During COVID, I experienced the heartbreaking loss of my grandpa Glenn, who passed away due to complications from diabetes and the tragic inability to afford his insulin. For three long months, he was hospitalized, unable to have his family and friends by his side due to visitation restrictions. As a healthcare provider, I saw firsthand the deep impact this isolation had on patients, affecting their mental health, and healing without the essential support of loved ones.

This profound experience inspired me to take action. I began creating care packages for nursing home residents in my area, filled with puzzle books, crafts, snacks, cozy socks, and a heartfelt handwritten note in each bag. Over the past five years, I’ve had the privilege of delivering more than 2,500 personalized care packages, bringing smiles and a bit of comfort to many, even if just for a few moments in their day.
